Before you start

What you'll need

Three things to have ready before you link the account.

iCloud Email & Password

The Apple ID email and password used on the child's iPhone.

iCloud Backup enabled

On the target iPhone: Settings → Apple ID → iCloud → iCloud Backup must be ON.

Access to the 2FA code

You'll need access to a trusted Apple device or the phone number associated with your Apple ID to receive Apple's verification code.

Tip: make sure you can sign in at icloud.com with these details before you continue.

Setup Steps

Link iCloud in 3 steps

Open TiSPY Dashboard

In your TiSPY dashboard, open Add Device and click Link iCloud. iCloud monitoring covers Emails, Contacts, Photos and more.

On the iPhone Registration screen, type the child's iCloud Email and iCloud password, then click Get Device(s).

It is mandatory that iCloud is configured on the target iPhone with automatic backup enabled. Confirm you can sign in at icloud.com before trying here.

Two-factor verification (2FA)

Apple protects the account with two-factor authentication. Get the verification code one of two ways, then enter it to continue.

Trusted device code

Code appears on an Apple device

Apple pushes a 6-digit code to a trusted Apple device that is signed in to this iCloud account.

Check the child's trusted Apple device — a 6-digit verification code appears. Type it into the Verification Code box.

Click Get Device(s) to continue. If it doesn't arrive, wait for the timer, then resend.

No code after 30 seconds? Request it by SMS instead.

Text message (SMS)

Code sent as a text

No trusted device on hand? Have Apple text the code to the trusted phone number instead.

Click Resend Code via SMS below the code box.

Apple sends the verification code by text. Type the code you receive into the Verification Code box.

Click Get Device(s) to continue.

Under Available Devices you'll see the iPhone's Device Name and Device ID. Click the Add ... iPhone button to finish linking it to your account.

Once added, iCloud data starts syncing to your TiSPY dashboard. The first backup can take a little while to appear.

2FA troubleshooting

If the verification step gives you trouble, these usually fix it.

Code didn't arrive?

Wait for the on-screen timer to finish, then use Resend Code via SMS to get it by text instead.

Keep backup enabled

If iCloud Backup is turned off on the iPhone, new data won't sync. Leave it switched ON.

Password changed?

If the Apple ID password changes, re-link the account with the new password and a fresh 2FA code.
